Why God The Savior Is Not a Man, Nor a Son of Man, and Why the Savior Is Waiting On Us
(Revised 10-19-2009)
In Judeo-Christian-Islamic terms, the truth is that The Savior is God. But God is not a man, nor a son of man, as Abraham knew, as Moses knew, as Isaiah knew, as Jesus knew, as Mohammed knew, and as all other true prophets of the world knew.
Now a true and actual witness of God can tell you that a modern and accurate term for God is the Great Spirit-Parent and Creator, the Divine Light-Energy-Source of our existence, the Supreme Universal Consciousness.
Unfortunately, in some of the Christian gospels in the Bible as we know it, Jesus of Nazareth is called the Savior. But a Messiah is not The Savior. A Messiah is a son of man, but he is not God The Savior. A son of man is a servant of God The Savior.
Jesus knew that, even though his later followers apparently did not. That is why there are contradictions in the New Testament of the Bible, because even though they contain erroneous doctrine, they also report truthfully that Jesus said: "God is greater than I," and "You have not seen God’s shape at any time."
Jesus was a Messiah, but not the only one. In Judaic texts, the title Messiah (or Mashiach, as Jews say) was used for all Jewish kings and high priests, but it was never used for an eschatological figure. In the Tanach, the word Mashiach is used 38 times, for patriarchs, high priests, and kings such as Saul and David.
Jesus of Nazareth departed from tradition, especially in that he rejected the throne, rather than assume it or fight for it. Likewise, the modern son of man who fulfills prophecies does the same, and he is not a so-called "king of the world," even though some Jewish Zionists, Christian Zionists, and Muslim Mahdists think he will be and would like him to be. Rather, he is your fellow servant, but one "pillar of the Temple" of God.
Jesus was a son of man, a Messiah, and he knew and said the truth, which is that the kingdom of God comes not with observation, but is within us. But Jesus also knew what the prophet Daniel had envisioned, that at the end of the age this "divided kingdom of Babylon" will fall, and a "new kingdom" will encompass all the kingdoms and nations of the earth, and the "new kingdom will last forever, never to be destroyed." (Daniel 2:44; Daniel 7:14; Isaiah 2:4; Micah 4:3; Psalm 104:5; Matthew 5:3-9; John 16:7-15; Revelation 11:15, etc.)
But, that did not happen during the lifetime of Jesus, because Jesus was not the Messiah that fulfilled most Judaic prophecies. He did fulfill some prophecies, such as receiving "stripes" from being whipped and being brought "as a lamb for slaughter." But Jesus knew the prophet Isaiah foresaw and wrote of two men, which is why Jesus knew he would be a sacrificial lamb, and there would be another who would be the "bridegroom lamb." That is why Jesus said there would be another son of man to come, who would fulfill his prophecies, as well as the rest of the prophecies of the prophets of Israel. (See the pages on Prophecies Re: The One to Come, Christians Divided, The Virgin Birth Story, and The Martyrdom of Jesus.)
You see, Messiah is a title, as is Christ, Avatar, Buddha, Saoshyant, etc. Those titles are for individuals who have been spiritually "anointed" by the Holy Spirit of our Oversoul, the Ancient One, who is in heaven with God.
Individuals who have fully realized they are one with God and the Ancient One, have spoken as the Ancient One and for the Ancient One. That’s what Jesus did when he said: "Before Abraham was, I am." (See the page on The Highest State of Consciousness.)
The Ancient One has been represented by all truly enlightened human beings who have been known by titles such as Messiah, Avatar, Siddhi, Buddha, etc. However, the highest state of human consciousness is the consciousness of the Ancient One, and eventually and ultimately it will enlighten all humanity. In other words, in due time, the body of the Christ-Avatar-Buddha, etc. will be the body of humanity as a whole. That is why we are all equal joint heirs to the "throne" of the "kingdom" to come, and eventually all human beings will be as "pillars of the temple" of God.
Few know that, unfortunately, because there are many erroneous beliefs and expectations about the person who is called "son of man" (also known as Mashiach or Buddha or Avatar or Siddha or Saoshyant or Christus or Messiah or Mahdi, etc.). Most religious people believe in the doctrines of men who were followers and were not truly enlightened. They did not know that no man has ever been or ever will be God "Himself," but were messengers who dared to speak for and as the Holy One. They did not know that each messenger of God has been different, and each one’s mission has been different according to the culture and the needs of the people at the time. And some are rejected by the "religious authorities" of the time, because they break tradition, and are reformers.
For example, Jesus of Nazareth was not accepted as a Mashiach by the Jewish "elders, chief priests and scribes," even though he was accepted by multitudes of common Jews and Greeks in his generation when he spoke to them.
It’s even worse for the current son of man, the authorized messenger for the Spirit of truth, because he is rejected not only by elders, clergy and scholars, but by most other people in his generation as well (as was predicted by Jesus). Why is he so rejected? Because the current son of man not only rejects the worldly throne, he claims no title except son of man, servant of God and messenger for the Ancient One, the Spirit of truth. Moreover, he does not cause his voice to be heard in public as an orator (as Jesus did). And, ironically, that is according to actual and real prophecies of Judaism and Christianity, even though most Jews, Christians and Muslims don’t know it.
However, the rejection of the son of man named Jesus by Jewish elders, chief priests and scribes was not only because he broke tradition and tried to update Judaism. That was just the beginning. The rejection of Jesus as a Mashiach (Messiah or Christus) by orthodox Jews really grew after he died, because exaggerated and even concocted Christian doctrine and dogma was established by his followers and then canonized in the fourth century. That is why even today religious Jews believe that Jesus was not a Mashiach, and it’s why they believe that Jesus did not fulfill any of the Judaic messianic prophecies.
I understand why they believe that, because they are correct to a certain extent. However, they are not correct in claiming that Jesus was not a Mashiach or Christus, nor are they correct in claiming that he did not fulfill any Judaic prophecies. Granted, it is true that the Christ Jesus did not fulfill all the Judaic prophecies that are claimed in the New Testament of the Christian Bible as we know it. However, Jesus did fulfill some of the prophecies. For example, his father Joseph was apparently born in the line of David, and as I said he was whipped and received "stripes" just before he was killed and martyred as a sacrificial lamb of God.
Jesus was a son of man and Messiah/Mashiach, and even though he did not fulfill most of the messianic prophecies, he was the greatest Christ-Avatar of the passing age. But, contrary to traditional Christian belief, Jesus was not "God incarnate," nor was he "the only begotten son of God," as I have explained in The Virgin Birth Story. Furthermore, Jesus will not "come again," because as he said, he had to go away and be seen no more on earth. Therefore, in those respects, Jewish Rabbinical scholars are quite correct in rejecting such notions and ideas as myths.
The real truth about Jesus was obscured during the first several decades following his death, and myths were fabricated about him well before the first Christian books or gospels were even written. The myths are the idea about the "virgin birth," the idea about his martyrdom being about "dying on the cross to put away sin," and the idea that his physical body was actually resurrected in the flesh, which I’ve discussed on the relevant pages.
However, since many Jews and Christians have expectations about the coming of a messianic king, I need to discuss that more in detail here. For while most religious Jews and many religious Christians do not understand why Jesus rejected the worldly throne, it was because he knew why it was written that if the people want a king they reject God, and that David shall never again want a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel.
This current son of man also knows that, because we are all joint heirs to the throne of the new "kingdom" to come. And this son of man, like Jesus, was anointed not with oil by clergy, but was spiritually anointed by the Holy Spirit of truth by God, and was chosen by God, not men.
This son of man fulfills the Judaic prophecies that Jesus did not, especially the ones that are so important now, about delivering the promised judgment, universally changing and improving the world, establishing peace and worldwide disarmament (turning "swords" into "plowshares"), fostering universal brotherhood and kinship and understanding of divine will and intent.
That is why Jews still await the coming of their Mashiach, and it is why Christians still await the so-called "second coming" of the Christ Jesus. But the truth is that none of them understand real prophecy, or how it is being and will be fulfilled. The person who fulfills Judeo-Christian prophecy is not who or what they think he will be, and he also fulfills the prophecies of other religions about the one to come. After all, they are all about the meek inheriting the earth and establishing justice and peace, turning their "swords into plowshares," etc.
The truth must be understood, because militant religious Jews have dug their heels in and won’t budge, just as many militant religious Christians and Muslims have done. All of them are led by militant religious zealots who think that they are right, and that everyone else is wrong. And that’s a big part of the reason why so many of them are fighting and killing each other.
The thing is, they all have a certain amount of truth on their side, and yet none of them yet realize that they all have been misled by certain man-made doctrines that have divided them, made them ignorant of divine will and intent, and created much conflict and division.
On this page I would like to discuss the main Jewish expectations that so many of them cling to, because I think they do not fully understand the meaning of real prophecies.
First, let’s be clear about what the title of Mashaich or Messiah or Christ literally means. It’s a title which means the anointed one. Unfortunately, in the strict meaning of the word in Judaic scriptures, it means that the kings of Israel are to be physically anointed by official clergy with an oil made of specific ingredients. That is why I discussed that on the page titled Plant of Renown, to address that concern.
However, I’ve also discussed, on that page and others, that those who cling to such rigid interpretations and focus on such details fail to understand the full truth of the matter. For the truth is that a truly enlightened witness and servant of God who is chosen as a messenger of God is spiritually anointed by the Holy Spirit of God the Lord of Hosts. Divine authorization and true enlightenment is not inherited or bequeathed by men, or clergy. Men cannot choose or authorize messengers of God. Only God calls, chooses and authorizes the true Messiahs (anointed ones), and the true servant-messengers for God’s Spirit of truth.
Still, in many ways, Jews understand more about the Messiah than post-fourth century Christians have. For example, Jews understand why Isaiah wrote the following:
Through Isaiah, God speaks of "my servant whom I have chosen, so you may know and believe me, and understand that I am the Holy One. Before me there was no God formed, and neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord God, and beside me there is no Savior." (Isaiah 43:10-11)
The book of Isaiah speaks of witnesses of God, and of a singular chosen servant of God, one who is called "son of man."And even though Isaiah speaks of the "servant Israel" in certain instances in a plural sense, meaning the people of Israel, Isaiah also speaks of the servant Israel in a singular sense, meaning the servant who "brings Jacob again" in spirit, and also symbolically represents the "sceptre of Judah," "a rod out of the stem of Jesse," and a "righteous branch from David."
That is why Jesus himself said the one who would fulfill both the Judaic and Christian prophecies would glorify God the Holy One in heaven, and would also glorify the Christ-Avatar-Ancient One who is with God in heaven.
Again, only God is the Holy One and Savior, as Isaiah wrote, and, as Moses wrote, "God is not a mortal or a man, nor a son of man." God is the unseen, omnipresent Holy One, and the person who now fulfills prophecy is literally a son of man. He is of your brethren and from your midst, and he is a witness and servant of God the Lord of Hosts, just as the Jewish prophets stated. Furthermore, he is the son of man and messenger for the Spirit of truth who issues judgment, guides you unto truth, shows you things to come, and glorifies God and the Ancient One (aka the Christ) who is with God in heaven, just as the Christ Jesus foretold.
Jesus spoke of the next, modern son of man, the "bridegroom" lamb of God who fulfills both Judaic and Christian prophesies of judgment, reconciliation, and peace, which are similar to all other genuine religious prophecies.
The Christian gospel authors wrote that the Christ Jesus fulfilled the Judaic prophecy in Zechariah which states: "Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives." (Zechariah 14:3-4) The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John all mention Jesus being on the "mount of olives." But, Jesus was a pacifist, not a fighter. And this servant of God, like Jesus, takes the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, knowing that the weapons of the Lord are not carnal or lethal, but are mighty through God for pulling down strongholds of misused military power. And this servant of God knows that "the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
The Christ Jesus knew that the Hebrew Psalm 45 states that God's "tongue is the pen of a ready writer." Jesus also knew that Isaiah 62:11 states: "Behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him." This is why Jesus said: "The writer who is instructed into the kingdom of heaven is like the man who is a householder, and he brings forth out of his treasure things old and new."
That is confirmed also in Psalm 103:20, Daniel 10:6, Daniel 10:9, and other scriptures that refer to the true, divinely inspired written word being the "voice of God's word" and "the sword of my mouth." That is also confirmed in Daniel 2:35 where the great prophet foretells that the "stone" of truth in the written word shall "shatter the image of the King of Babylon and become as a great mountain that shall fill the earth."
All of that speaks not of what the son of man Jesus accomplished then, but of what the work of the current son of man will accomplish.
As I’ve explained on other pages, most of the other prophecies in Judaic scriptures and particularly in the book of Isaiah were not about the son of man Jesus, but about this current son of man. For I represent and serve the spirit of Israel and Jacob, and Joseph, and Jehoshuah the Christ in heaven, in whose new name I serve.
But even so, I tell you the names do not matter. Names are what people fight over. It matters not what my name is, or who I am as a mortal person. Even though my blood lines also go back to the ancient ones, the genealogy and the name and the identity of the messenger does not really matter. He is called and chosen by God, and it is the truth he delivers that matters, because it is the truth and nothing but the truth will liberate us, unite us, and empower us all. And the real truth will be self-evident to anyone with an eye to see. We all know it, but we’ve forgotten it because we’ve been misled and divided by the doctrines of men who perhaps meant well, but were in certain instances not divinely inspired.
Still, since religious Jews insist the Messiah absolutely must be descended on his father's side from King David according to Genesis 49:10; Isaiah 11:1; Jeremiah 23:5, 33:17; Ezekiel 34:23-24; II Samuel 7:14; I Chronicles 17:11-14, 22:9-10, 28:4-6, I tell you that the Christ Jesus fulfilled that part of prophecy, as I may also do. But even if that were not the case, I must say that those scriptural passages do not necessarily speak literally of blood lines. Terms like the "sceptre of Judah," "a rod out of the stem of Jesse," and a "righteous branch from David," are not necessarily literal. Those terms speak more of the soul and spirit and mission of the son of man, than of blood lines.
It may help to consider why the prophet Isaiah wrote this: "(God) has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand has he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver has he hid me; And said unto me, You are my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified. Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the Lord, and my work with my God. And now, says the Lord that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength." (Isaiah 49:2-5)
Many religious Jews erroneously think that "Israel" mentioned in that passage is the modern State of Israel, the collective body of Jews. But that’s not true. They have been misled, just as many Christians have. For many religious Christians do not understand that the part about being "hidden" and "working in vain and for nought" is about me, the son of man who fulfills Judeo-Christian prophecy and is rejected by his generation, just as the prophets Isaiah and Jesus prophesied.
In Isaiah 49 the term Israel is used in two ways, as the servant of God, and as the Israeli people who are "not gathered." Israel the servant is the son of man, the same witness and servant of God mentioned in many prophecies, like Isaiah 43:10-11. Furthermore, the name Jacob is used in Isaiah 49 in the context of "bringing Jacob again," and it does not mean Jacob literally, but the son of man who embodies the spirit of Jacob (and Israel, Abraham, David, Jesus, etc.).
When Jews realize the truth, they will see that most of the prophecies are about the current son of man, the witness and servant of God who was first stricken and afflicted, who is well acquainted with grief and sorrow, who sends his work before him but is rejected and thinks that his work has been in vain and for nought. And all that is just as Isaiah foresaw and prophesied.
"Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delights. I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgement to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street." (Isaiah 42:1-2)
"For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he has no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted." (Isaiah 53:2-4)
"For thus says the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him that is of a contrite and humbled spirit; to revive the spirit of the humble (and meek), and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always angry. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I angry, and struck him. I hid me, and was angry, and he went on willfully in the ways of his heart. (But) I have seen his ways, and I will lead him..." (Isaiah 57:15-17)
"Behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him." ... and he "shall be called, Sought out, a city not forsaken." (Isaiah 62:11-12)
Of course, religious Jews point out that one of the central themes of Judaic prophecy is the promise of a future age of universal peace and recognition of God’s will and intent. (Isaiah 2:1-4; Zephaniah 3:9; Hosea 2:20-22; Amos 9:13-15; Isaiah 32:15-18, 60:15-18; Micah 4:1-4; Zechariah 8:23, 14:9; and Jeremiah 31:33-34)
But, in due time they will realize that I am the prophesied witness and servant-messenger of God, and I deliver my work in the message that will ultimately accomplish that. But I not only reject the throne as the Christ Jesus did. I reject being in the public eye, because it is the truth, and nothing but the truth, that shall set us all free and empower us all. For we are all equal joint heirs to God’s new kingdom, where God only shall reign, in Spirit, and no more shall any man or woman be a pretender to the throne.
You see, there is a very good reason Isaiah wrote of "my witness and my servant whom I have chosen, so you may know and believe me, and understand that I am the Holy One. Before me there was no God formed, and neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord God, and beside me there is no Savior." (Isaiah 43:10-11)
You see, God’s true witness and servant-messenger will not play God, nor will he seek power over you, or rule you. His mission is to liberate you from all those who want to rule over you, unite all humanity, and empower you all so that you may establish truly fair and democratic government.
Granted, Jeremiah 23:5_6 states: "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, the Lord of our righteousness."
But, like the Christ Jesus, I reject throne, and this is one of many reasons why:
"In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord of our righteousness. For thus says the Lord: David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel." Jeremiah 33:15-17:
Notice that no man should or will sit upon the throne of the house of Israel. Jesus did not, and I will not. I will not even speak in public, in the street, or from behind a pulpit or podium. If I am a king, I abdicate my throne so that we all may share it as joint heirs to the new kingdom, because my mission is to empower and liberate all humanity, not to assume personal power for myself. And I must say that "Judah" will not be saved, nor will Jerusalem dwell safely, until Israelis and Muslims realize their folly and iniquity, make amends, and make peace.
To help with that process, I must also say that religious Jews also need to understand the truth about Christianity and Islam. In fact, what religious Jews (along with religious Christians and religious Muslims) do not understand is that God’s design had to be in accordance with the evolution and development of humanity’s consciousness, and it has unfolded in several steps over a long period of time.
The Christ Jesus fulfilled specific functions. He pointed out that ancient Judaic scriptures were not the strict "word of God," because human beings wrote them, and they were only human. Jesus also pointed out that many religious Jews were ignorant of divine will and intent, as many are today, and as many religious Christians and Muslims also are today. Jesus also expressed great universal wisdom and gave us much good advice. He also issued crucial prophecies about the next son of man and messenger for the Spirit of truth, who would issue judgment, guide you unto truth, and show you things to come. And ironically, Jesus was talking about the same person Isaiah and other prophets were talking about in most instances.
Mohammed or Muhammad also fulfilled specific functions, mainly to bring Arabs into the family of Abrahamic religious with Jews and Christians. Mohammed did not fulfill Judeo-Christian prophecies, but he was a servant of God (or Allah, which is the Arab word for God). After all, Mohammed's Qur'an makes it very clear that Islam does not cancel out the messages of previous prophets, such as Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, David, Solomon, Enoch, and Jesus. In fact, the Qur'an commands Muslims to speak with great courtesy to Jews and Christians, because they "all believe in the same God" (29:46).
You see, the main problem today is that militant religious Jews expect a Mashiach King who will bring victory and worldly power to them. Militant religious Christians expect a Messiah-Christ King who will bring victory and worldly power to them. And militant religious Muslims expect an Imam Mahdi who will do the same. But the fact is that all of them are misguided and have erroneous expectations. They fail to understand divine will and intent.
There is only one person who fulfills all prophecies, and I am he. And I tell you that this is a new day and age, and the days of monarchs and theocracy are over. We are to be free, and equal, and govern ourselves. As the prophets foretold, all the kingdoms and nations shall become as one, but as such they will be a family of equal nations, and the overarching "kingdom" will not be ruled by a mortal king or an immortal superman, but by the Great Spirit within and above us all.
God is with the Ancient One, the Oversoul in heaven, the Holy Spirit of Truth, who is identified with the Mashiach, Christ, Avatar, Buddha, Mahdi, Saoshyant, Sage, etc. But again, God and the Ancient One shall rule IN SPIRIT ONLY, and the governments of our nations shall be governed by executive councils rather than pretenders to the thrones. (See the pages on The New Declaration of Independence and How the Meek Shall Inherit the Earth.)
Now, I must also address the Jewish and Christian expectation that the Mashiach/Messiah will "build the Third Temple" in Jerusalem according to Ezekiel 37:26-28. And I must say they misunderstand what Ezekiel meant. It is quite true that Ezekiel expressed God’s will that: "I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore." However, the "sanctuary" or "tabernacle" or "temple" of God is not a literal place. It is "in the midst" of all the people, everywhere. It is very much like the saying that we can all be "pillars of the temple," as the apostle John put it. (See also the page titled The Crusades for Jerusalem, which discusses that, and also discusses what the "Mountain of the Lord" is.
As for the Jewish expectation that the Mashiach will gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel according to Isaiah 43:5-6, that is obviously true, because since 1941 when I was born, many Jews have been able to immigrate to Palestine and then to the new State of Israel. (But you should read the page titled The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, which discusses Israel’s iniquity, because it will not be pardoned until she acknowledges her offenses and makes amends.)
The bottom line is this: While religious people are waiting for a Savior, The Savior is waiting for humanity to recognize the message from the Spirit of truth, which issues judgment, guides you unto truth, and shows you things to come, just as Jesus said.
If you also read the pages titled Prophecies Re: The "One To Come," Martyrdom of Jesus, Virgin Birth Story, Plant of Renown, Christians Divided, and Author’s Personal Note, you will get a more full picture of what I’m saying, and you will better understand who and what I am. For I am nobody, in one sense, and yet I serve the One who is Every One. You and I and God are One, and as you do unto others, so you do unto me, and unto your very Self.
